We found an apartment within one month with Gerald's help
We came to Bordeaux in May to find an apartment. We had contacted Gerald beforehand, who advised us to forget about short-term renting and suggested that staying in an AirBNB for two months would be good enough to find a flat for purchase.
The French system for finding real estate is terrible; it protects the agent but makes it useless for the buyer. Advertisements are generally pictures of furniture (AI generated, often) within a general area, so not very helpful. Gerald helped us navigate this environment and suggested suitable apartments to us. Even so, some sellers do not work with brokers like him, so there we were still on our own. In the end, he found us a nice place. After that, he helped us navigate through the paperwork and the notary and all that. All in all, it went well for us thanks to Gerald, who is also a very nice person (with a heavy Scottish accent)

Outstanding
Gerald has been a dream to work with. He's kind, patient, and very responsive. He really listened to what we wanted, provided a lot of excellent advice, and did a great job guiding us through the very complicated process of buying as foreigners. Gerald also did a great job negotiating and helped make sure that our offer was accepted in a multiple offer situation. House in Bordeaux
We had been thinking about buying a French property for quite a while and had finally decided upon looking for it in Bordeaux. We happened upon the Leggett site by chance and a property in Bègles that Simon was representing. While that was not the property for us, Simon kept in touch and went out of his way to suggest other properties to us. After a couple of visits to Bordeaux, we eventually found and purchased a house in central Bordeaux. I think it's fair to say that without Simon's guidance we would never have got there.
