Without Patricia, our life goal wouldn't have been achieved.
It's been my wife and I's goal to move to France permanently for many years now. With the assistance of Leggett, we found our forever home in the Charente Maritime in September, shown around the property by Patricia.
It was just what we were looking for, a fixer upper with lots of land and outbuildings. For reasons not applicable to this review and certainly not the fault of Leggett and Patricia, we were unable to progress our offer until January 2022. Our offer was duly accepted, we put our UK house on the market and the chain commenced.
Then the nightmares started. Again, nothing to do with Leggett/Patricia but suffice to say that anyone familiar with the UK conveyancing system will be aware of its faults and boy, did we get the book thrown at us. The key issue that the delays brought was that our seller needed to get back to the UK quickly for family reasons. We were constantly let down by our UK buyers solictors and those up the chain meaning that exchange was delayed repeatedly, indeed the total time to setup the exchange was near 5 months.
During this time, our seller was very stressed, under constant pressure from her family to bail out and relist the property. Patricia went way above the call of duty, keeping closely in touch with both us and the seller, managing the comms, managing the seller, more than once travelling to the house to persuade her not to drop the deal. I should add that Patricia also did a huge amount of work to facilitate the Diagnostique and all aspects of the sale, indeed roping in her husband to dig a hole required to check the Fosse, again , this is superb customer service.
Throughout the entire tortuous process, Patricia remained professional, cheerful, pro-active and on top of the issues. Not once did we feel that we were being let down in any way, indeed we always had a sense of confidence that because Patricia was our agent, all would eventually be well.
We finally defeated the conveyancing forces arrayed against us, exchanged and of course, completed. Again, Patricia helped us greatly with the Notaire, managing the comms in French and attending the completion meeting with us to help with translation.
As I put in the title, without Patricia, we wouldn't have achieved a major life goal. As I sit here typing in our fabulous French farmhouse, looking out over the wonderful garden, I'm struggling to find words to convey our eternal thanks and appreciation for all Patricia did for us. Patricia is an incredible professional and a huge credit and asset to Leggett Immobilier.
